Evac+Chair International to exhibit at the Hotel Show in Dubai

05 August 2015

After a highly successful year of events and shows, Birmingham based company Evac+Chair International will be attending The Hotel Show in Dubai from the 28th to the 30th September, which is the ultimate showcase of the world’s leading hospitality solutions. The show covers 8 halls, and attracts a trade audience of 17,700 hotel and hospitality professionals from 98 countries, held in the famous World Trade Centre. Evac+Chair has already wowed crowds and won awards this year for ‘Most Interactive Stand’ at the Health & Safety Event held at the NEC in March. The company also won the title of best new exhibitor stand at ‘Safety in Action’ held in Sydney, Australia.

The Evac+Chair is the world’s leading evacuation chair in aiding mobility impaired individuals downstairs in emergency situations, safely and easily. In emergencies such as fires or earthquake, lifts cannot be used in large multi-storey buildings, meaning people who are less able or with a disability may become trapped upstairs. The Evac+Chair provides an easy, light weight solution to help get these people out in an emergency evacuation and save lives.

With Dubai becoming one of the world’s leading tourist destinations, with over 570 hotels with 137,193 rooms as of March this year, according to the latest report by STR Global. This year is expected to see the opening of 125 hotels with 27,775 rooms, as per the report. This means a lot of high rise buildings and hotels needing to ensure all guests can be evacuated safely in an emergency situation from the incredibly tall buildings. Due to this, the Evac+Chair stand is set to impress at The Hotel Show, Sales and Marketing Director Mark Roberts said: ‘We are excited to be able to go to Dubai for the Hotel Show this year, with it being one of the biggest shows of its kind, we have a larger audience to show why we are still the world’s leading evacuation chair company.’

By law, as detailed in the Equality Act (2010) all places of employment, schools, clubs, offices and public buildings must provide adequate access and egress facilities for all persons with disabilities who may enter or exit a building. If not provided the establishment can be fined and held guilty for corporate manslaughter.
